Description
Concentrates on ancient Mesopotamian civilisation during the period between 700 - 530 B.C.. Great events were happening: first, Assyrian power reached its zenith under kings like Sargon II and Sennacherib and Dominated the whole of the Near East. Then Babylon threw off the Assyrian yoke, destroyed Nineveh and reached her own peak of prosperity under Nebuchadnezzar, until Babylon in turn was overthrown by the Persians, whose ascendancy was to last another two hundred years until the time of Alexander the Great.
