The Hazelton letters

John Adams Hazleton was born 6 August 1820 in Chester, New Hampshire. His parents were Samuel Hazelton and Abigail Tabor. John traveled to California by ship in 1849. Includes six letters that he wrote home during this trip. He returned to New Hampshire and married Louisa Jane Chase, daughter of Josiah Chase and Adaline Ayer, 14 June 1854. They had seven children. He served in the Civil War in the 15th New Hampshire Regiment. He died in 1912.
