"The Campbell Collection of Soup Tureens at Winterthur is an assemblage of soup plates, bowls, ladles, and spoons as well as tureens. This important collection, comprising both metal and ceramic objects, came to Winterthur in 1996 - the generous gift of the Campbell Museum - and is on permanent display in the glass-walled Dorrance Gallery, overlooking the magnificent Winterthur Garden.".

The introductory essay touches on the historical context of the tureens, relating their creation to the history of dining practices from the seventeenth through the nineteenth centuries.
