This book is an excellent view of the underground of Cuba's problems. It reveals the truth of Cuban culture and its exposure to the outside world. Western thinking has pictured Cubans as third-world free-loaders, but this book opens a new lens to the Cuban prestige. Although the protagonist is a prostitute it is just a figure who invites you to see the real Cuba for itself. This short novel proves to be revolutionary, and something that should be analyzed all over the Western culture.
