The shadow of The Sycamores

Follow the fortunes of the Rae family from austere Victorian times through to the horrors of two world wars. When war threatens, Jerry has to leave the security of The Sycamores nursing home where he has worked all his life, to face the horrors of the trenches. At training camp he meets Daphne, and falls in love, but before he can tell his parents, he's sent to the trenches and is tragically killed in action. Will the family discover that their son found love and happiness before he died - and is Daphne's child the grandson the Raes long to have?
