Anglo-Saxon and Viking Britain examines the archaeological clues that tell us about the wooden homes built more than 1,000 years ago. The book also looks at the towns of that time, from Anglo-Saxon fortified towns to York, the Viking capital. Much of the evidence we have of past times comes from the buildings people left behind. Their homes and their villages and towns give us clues that help us find out about the way they lived. This series explores different periods of Britain history through our building heritage.
