It's New Year's Eve, and Senator Bruce Kirkhill fails to appear at the home of his financee's father, Vice-Admiral Jonathan Satterbee. Instead, he is found later that same evening in a run-down neighborhood, wearing shabby clothes, and murdered! Naively, the Admiral hires a private investigator to check things out. Jerry and Pam North are brought into it because the Admiral is about to write his memoirs for Jerry's Publishing House. And what follows is a mystery packed with dangerous action and unsuspecting twists with the Norths right in the middle of it...
