Description
This work aims to publicize the mortuary practices, materialities and cultural traditions of the indigenous populations of the Argentine Northwest. Its development is based on archaeological research and in situ excavations carried out in the region of the El Cadillal dam, province of Tucumán. The magnitude and importance of the findings demonstrates the existence of sophisticated social practices aimed at negotiating positions and spaces of power, as well as access to resources and defined sectors of certain landscapes. It was also possible to verify a marked technical development in artistic creation, visible especially in the ceramic sets that accompanied the deceased and that, in some cases, circulated in everyday life.
