The book documents the beautiful relief-mural created by Recinos (b. Guatemala) in the auditorium of the National Music Conservatory "Germán Alcántara" an artwork that also functions as "acoustic diffusers". The edition documents in detail each of the 89 famous international personages portrayed in the murals (Mona Lisa, Van Gogh, Ludwig van Beethoven, Paul Gauguin, Ana Pavlova, Niña de Guatemala, Claude Debussy, Piotr I. Tchaikovsky, James Joyce, Franz Liszt, Gustav Mahler, Joan Sutherland, George Gershwin, Carlos Chavez, Isadora Duncan, and other music and art historical figures). Book includes 3 essays, an introductory text by art historian and critic Irma Lorenzana de Luájn; another by editor Toledo on the life and art of Recinos and a third one where the painter narrates his motivation on painting the murals. Includes 1 interactive CD-Rom with a virtual tour of the murals, a biography and other details of the artist, along with digitally animated images; and 1 DVD of 1 min. duration depicting the personages in the murals.
