The conservation of icons in the Velimezis Collection

"The icons of the Collection are displayed automatically, in continuous projection, or according to a selection, on the basis of: chronological criteria from the time chart, the title or the number of the icon from an index, the icon-painter, the geographical region-School and various topics (308 different terms and themes). The analytical presentation of each icon i[n]cludes: the complete icon on full screen, details, narrative, text with information on the icon-painter, the historical context, photographic material from the works of research and conservation (x-rays, infrared and ultra-violet photographs, sections etc.), photographs of the icons before 1943 and a study on the harmonious structural grids.
