Fateful Deception

When Captain Robert Monceaux, of the Fifteenth Light Dragoons, rescues Miss Lucinda Handscombe from a highway robbery, she piques his interest. Robert cannot stay away from her, and Lucinda becomes attracted to him. When her guardian demands that she accompanies him to Madeira against her will, Robert offers to save her. But, after a misunderstanding, Lucinda runs away. And when Robert eventually finds her, they realise they must learn to trust each other for their future happiness together.
