Description
In the Land of the Rising Sun, the Emperor asks a master carpenter to build a teahouse in the Garden of Tranquility. Permission is granted for the carpenter's daughter to accompany him to work, but only after she promises to show perfect behavior in such a special place.

This story deals with the importance of promises and the sense of belonging to family and community through one's work. Written in the style of a fairy tale, it gives the child a simple introduction to Japanese culture.
